The brochure of the self-guided tour of the Old Parliament House states: “During the time Parliament was here great changes took place in Australian social and political life. The many alterations that have been made to the building reflect the great transformations, which occurred during the 20th century. This is the building in which democracy matured in Australia. Here, the nation was shaped.” This body of work as an indirect continuation of the university interiors in India. Both projects address and depict the history of colonization, but also the compromise between two traditions.
